About 80 percent of teas are exported to Pakistan from South India and Assam.

However, due to drought in Kenya this year, the tea crop has come down. Regular tea is imported from Pakistan. They also pay regular money. There is no problem with it. Pakistan is buying tea on a large scale, and if the trend continues, it will reach 2 to 2.5 crores, ITA Secretary Sujit Patra said.

Meanwhile, Russia buys tea from India on a large scale. In 2018, Russia purchased 4.5 million kg of tea from India. Iran bought 3.6 million kilograms and Egypt bought 1.13 million kilograms of tea. According to experts, if other countries continue to buy tea from India, tea exports will reach 300 million kg by 2020.
