The number of passengers in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station, which is the hottest railway station in Mumbai, has decreased. In the last 11 years, the number of passengers has decreased from 47.4 percent in the CSMT station. Apart from CSMT, the number of passengers at the Dadar station has decreased. This includes suburban, long-distance train passengers and platform ticket purchasers.

 

The number of passengers in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station, which is the hottest railway station in Mumbai, has decreased. In the last 11 years, the number of passengers has decreased from 47.4 percent in the CSMT station. Apart from CSMT, the number of passengers at the Dadar station has decreased. This includes suburban, long-distance train passengers and platform ticket purchasers.

The number of passengers traveling through the CSMT station has come down every year. Many offices in South Mumbai have migrated to north and west parts of Mumbai. As a consequence, this number is said to be reduced. The number of passengers traveling through the CSMT station has declined by about 48 percent. In the year 2007-08, the number of passengers was 8.8 crores. It has decreased to 4.6 million in 2018-19. The number of passengers traveling between and from the long distance carries a loss of about 22 lakhs by approximately 41 percent.
