Therefore municipal corporation has appealed to the people to save water and avoid water abuse.

Last year, there were 39 percent water stock in the seven lanes on May 3. This year only 22% of water stock is left in the ponds. On this backdrop, the municipal corporation has planned to provide adequate water supply till July, Chief Water Engineer Ashokkumar Tawadia told the Standing Committee on Friday. If the rain is postponed, then the reservoir reserves will be used at the end of June. He said that there will be no more water cut.

To get enough water for the Mumbaiites, the corporation has obtained permission from the state government to utilize the reserved stock of rice and upper plots. Therefore, there will be no problem for Mumbai water supply till July.

Water from seven dams like Modakasagar, Tansa, Upper Vaitarna, Madhya Vaitarna, Tulsi, Vihar and Bhatsa in Mumbai.

– 3800 million liters of water is supplied daily by these dams.

-Mumbai corporation needs to have 14,47,363 million liters of water in seven dams.

In the last year, on October 1, 2 lakh million liters of water is less.
