In June 2018, the Food and Drug Administration decided to differentiate between ice used for food and other uses. Snow color used for commercial purposes was selected as blue. It was instructed to keep this difference in the eyes of common people. The FDA officials were not aware that they are not being taken seriously. For commercial purposes, the restriction of production of ice using blue colors was thrown on to ice makers. It is also being investigated whether the ice is being prepared in the same way for the last nine months. Dr. Jain, Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, is working in 27 different types of blue ice factories in the state. Pallavi Darade said.

The ice used to eat is made of clean water, so its rates are more than those used for storage of other foods. False ice is formed from water in ponds or other available sources. The virus that is spread in the water often causes illness. Last year, in Mumbai, a large number of viruses were found to be harmful in the market for snow sold in the market. Because the proportion of ice-producing factories was limited, ice was being used by any kind of contaminated water for excess earnings. FSSAI, which is responsible for food safety control, had issued such orders.
